Woodlawn Connection isn't just a place where delicious food grows, It's a place where young minds blossom completed in December 2015. Woodlawn Connection is a series of events that bring the community together through health, food, and entertainment. On April 21st, 2016 WHS Urban Farm Staff, and partners hosted the first Woodlawn Connection with over 100+ people in attendance.

Event #2
July 15th, 2016

On July 15th, our second event was held with over 100+ attendees. Health providers such as UAB provided health tips to our guest on how to live a healthier and efficient lifestyle. Also had a local kettle corn company Naughty But Nice served delicious hand popcorn. We also had a Zumba and ChristFit instructors to come out and do workouts to show people how to exercise the right way. To top the night off we finished with watching Kong Fu panda 3.

April 21, 2016

In Fall 2015, A group of Woodlawn High School students presented a presentation to our sponsors CHIA (Community Health Innovation Awards) and was granted of $17,000. On April 21st, our first event was held with over 100+ attendees. Health providers such as Christ Health Center, PackHealth, and HealthSmart provided health tips to our guest on how to live a healthier and efficient lifestyle. Also had local restaurants and food trucks such as Eugene’s hot chicken and Bayles cater the event. With that being said there were lots of fun activities for parents, and children to experience. The activates included giant tic-tac- toe using cabbage, planting Demos, And who can forget about the corn hole using good ole beats.
