In Jones Valley Teaching Farm's state-accredited science classes, students are challenged by hands-on, place-based, and project-based learning. They explore and develop solutions to real-world food problems while developing their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) literacy and skills.
Completed in December 2015, WHS Urban Farm is a two-acre farm built for and managed by high school students. The farm includes a state-of-the-art greenhouse, bio-retention pond, office and teaching space, and produce processing and storage facilities. WHS Urban Farm serves as the anchor for Jones Valley Teaching Farm's overall WHS program.
Coming soon! Students will design, launch, and operate a food enterprise that will give them hands-on business experience—from sales and marketing to operations and finance—and an opportunity to act as community leaders
